I am a little late on this post because I was behind on my projects, but I have finally started them and have made great progress on them.
Right now I am working on three projects at once, I was feeling a little overwhelmed with the idea of remaking the vest and making more chain links, so I figured that having the option to work on several projects at once would help me not get bored and tired with one.
When we talked about our goals for the semester I mentioned my need to figure out who I am, and where I come from to hopefully figure out a meaning for why I make the work I do.
I have never felt like I belonged in any group, probably because I have been moving from country to country since a young age and have never felt like I fit in anywhere. After traveling to the Dominican Republic my homeland, I started learning a lot more about myself and my family’s past and the need for inquiring more about my ancestry.
I have ordered a genealogy test from ancestry DNA test, and will hopefully have some more answers soon. I have also talked with my great aunts about my family history and they shared information about my ancestors and about my great-great grandfather, Eutaquio Ureña Pereyra, who was apparently considered to be into witchcraft and was feared by the people in the town. lol https://ancestors.familysearch.org/en/GSVC-9YJ/eutaquio-ureña-1880-1988
I am excited to keep learning things about my family tree and to see how badass ancestors are.
