About Hailey
Hailey Pereyra is a ceramic artist and designer born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and raised in Mexico City. She earned a BFA in Ceramics and Graphic Design from Indiana University Southeast and is currently pursuing post-baccalaureate studies in ceramics. Through clay and pattern, her work explores memory, cultural inheritance, identity, and belonging.
Statement
My work explores the experiences we carry across generations and the ways memory, cultural inheritance, and displacement shape identity. Working primarily in clay, I use pattern and ornamentation as visual markers of resilience and belonging. Through the act of making, personal and inherited narratives become embedded within the surface and form of each piece, transforming clay into a vessel for preserving stories and affirming presence.
