Last week I made a bunch of French vanilla creme brulees, they are super easy to make, delicious, and addicting!! I shared a few with a couple of friends and they paired it with *chef’s kiss* homemade Irish coffees. It was amazing, had a lovely time with them. c:
Now to the important stuff!!
I did some research on the gold luster overglaze and I learned that this technique was first seen in Mesopotamia in the early 9th century, usually accompanied by geometric patterns.

Staffordshire pottery jug, c. 1815
I also learned that the technique is indeed a final coating applied over an already glazed piece and it does need to be fired to a very low temperature, from cone 022 to 017. I found that BLICK sells gold luster at $37.08 for 2g. Will definitely purchase it soon because I am convinced this will be a great little detail for the sculpture.
Update on the second sculpture c:

last week I added the waste slab and continued to build the bust. I am a lot more behind than what i thought, but I am trying to keep up. I really want to have this finished before spring break because i will be traveling to the Dominican Republic and by the time I return i will have like 2 days “off” but working and then we have the NCECA trip, so igottahurrrryyyy!
the end.
thank you, bye.
oh
and i have to make my cup for NCECA like yesterday, like now, like i am posting this and going to the studio to make cups.
Thats it. bye.
