Rakubeque and more

wittle bby heads ♥

I had a couple terracotta bbs that were bisqued during summer break, they were made from a doll mold that I found in the studio c: and some “terracota” slip that Max left for me (i am not sure what it is)

I had tons of fun during the rakubeque, hanging out with my peers and getting to know the students from the 361 class, also seeing the pieces come out the kiln glowing red is always very exciting and I always love seeing Molly handling her pieces, she is such a badass.

Graphic Design + Ceramics

This is a very exciting project for me, and so far I am loving the process, I love that everything has been working out smoothly, it’s going really good!

I started by making a “mockup” from plastic bags and tape, I then rolled out a couple slabs and shaped them into the shape of the mockup, creating two halves, I allowed it to dry for a while attached them together and then finished by cleaning up the shape.

I have been looking at the details on the bottom of glass bottles, they usually have a recessed bottom with a small, very shallow rim, at times there is some type of added texture on the bottom rim and often you find some embossed markings, I would like to see some if not all of these elements on my bottle.

My next step is to polish the bottle very well, all around and start adding color and texture. I am also still researching waterslide decals, I am going to try and print out a couple today.
