The Indiana clay conference was great! Got so much inspiration and encouragement, while I highly enjoyed a lot of the speakers and the demos, and learned so much from all! My favorite was seeing Autumn McKay on stage and talking about her process with terra-sig! Love seeing friends and classmates sharing their work and their process!

Coming back home after a lot of cool demos, there are several new things I want to try. Hehe, I love the idea of the silicone castings! I had some thoughts on how I can use it in my work- maybe I can make castings of my mom’s and grandma’s faces to add to the narrative of my ancestors.
Another thing that I am ready to try is the Terra Sig. I have been interested in it in the past, but then started using slip and never thought of it again, until Autumn’s presentation, so it is happening! I will probably be making some this week!
I also enjoyed parts of the Richard James demo; it was cool to see how he builds a bust. He surely makes it look easy. I like the shrinking slab serving also as support; that is something that I am starting to incorporate now.
