Alrighty, this is my progress so far! I’ve been focusing on building the vase and making sure it stays stable and dries properly. I decided not to give the vase a neck because it was already getting pretty heavy, and I was a little worried it might collapse. Instead, I’m thinking of making a flat lid and adding something on top. I’m not sure if I’ll go with the palm trees yet, but that’s one idea 😀

Today, when I get into the studio, I’ll start building the lid and adding the flowers and other elements from my last sketch, including the Dominican flag and the entry and exit passport stamps.

I also want to add more detail to the eyes. I saw a video on Instagram where someone carved out the pupil to create more dimension, and I want to try that technique

I think this would be a great addition to the bust, giving it a more realistic feel.
